I spent last week furiously coding a site that debuted this morning at the RNC in Tampa. It’s a super spiffy data visualization that shows the spread of tech jobs all across America. It’s not just Silicon Valley and New York, folks! As you see when poking around the map, Denver is a huge tech hub, as is Madison, WI and Wichita, KS. They all have well over 10% of their employees working in high tech. It’s pretty incredible how pervasive the economic impact of technology has become. We’re hoping everyone at the RNC and DNC walks away with a new healthy respect for the importance of tech and startups.
Check it out and tell all your friends: http://engine.is/techjobs/
I’ll be posting a technical “how we did it” for this soon, but in the meantime, enjoy the data! :)
